Spencerian script was developed by Platt Rogers Spencer (November 7, 1800- May 16, 1864) which grew in popularity in the 19th and early 20th century. I personally fell in love with this script because of its delicate and romantic look. With less pen lifts and more fluid movement, this script can be used for all types of celebrations and correspondence!
This 51 page practice workbook was thoughtfully created to help you not only understand the break down of each Spencerian uppercase letter, but have endless opportunities to trace and build up that muscle memory.

I’ve just started using these but am confident that I’ll learn the letter forms from your detailed descriptions and guided practice. (I’m a skilled calligrapher, using Copperplate and modern scripts.). Looking ahead, I’m curious whether I’ll be able to connect letters into words appropriately. Do you have any advice regarding how to write words in Spencerian?

Good. I feel there is too much wasted space when using my light pad and copy paper and copying your page so I: write 3 lines of letters for about 5-6 letters per page of copy paper. That works well for me.
