Introduction to Copperplate - Part 2 (Uppercase Letters & Numbers)
Date: Saturday, July 22, 2023

Time: 10AM-3PM (This includes a 1 hour lunch break)

This introductory workshop will take you through one of my absolute favorite pointed pen scripts. Copperplate script is derived from a form of handwriting called English Roundhand and though it was widely used from the 16th-19th century..it continues to be a favored script today. If you are interested in dipping into pointed pen calligraphy, learning this script will give you a strong foundation of the classic letterforms. We will be using a flexible steel nib to achieve the delicate hairlines and thick shades. 

Whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced calligrapher, all are welcome! We will begin from the ground up and go over:

• Warm Ups/Drills/Nib Exercises
• Uppercase Basic Strokes
• Breakdown of each uppercase letters in groups
• Connecting uppercase to lowercase letters
• Numbers & Symbols

*Note that you will have to bring your own penholder. I will have some at the studio for you to purchase on the day of
